A11Yneeds is a project developed and published privately by Cédric Goedecke.

A11Yneeds helps people express their adaptation needs and helps organisations present the adaptations they can offer.

Anonymous use or use without an account

Without an account, the A11Y code, profiles, opened files, selected adaptations and prepared information remain on the user's device.

This information remains under the user's control and is transmitted only if they choose to send it themselves, for example by email or to a compatible organisation.

Use with an account

With an account, A11Yneeds may save certain information to allow synchronisation between several devices, recovery in the event of local loss and reuse of previously completed fields.

Personal information saved for requests to organisations can be changed or deleted by the user at any time.

The user always chooses the information they want to send to an organisation. Fields offered by an organisation are not mandatory as a matter of principle: the user remains free to complete or leave blank the requested information.

Requests submitted to organisations

When a request is submitted directly to an organisation, A11Yneeds transmits the selected adaptations, the fields the user chose to complete and any free text entered by the user.

This information is intended for the organisation concerned by the request. It must not be used for other purposes without a valid basis and without clearly informing the user.

A11Yneeds does not sell users' personal data.

Security and technical logs

A11Yneeds may retain technical information necessary for security, sign-in, error diagnosis, abuse prevention and proper operation of the service.

This information may include sign-in dates, session identifiers, browser or application information, technical request information and security events.

This technical data is not intended to establish a commercial profile of the user.

Third-party applications

Other developers may create software compatible with the A11Yneeds file format, in compliance with the rules governing that format. This compatibility does not, by itself, give access to your account or the information saved in it.

In this case, use of the data by that third-party application is the responsibility of the user and the third-party application's provider. A11Yneeds accepts no responsibility for the processing, display, analysis, retention or transmission of data performed by a third-party application that is not published or expressly approved by A11Yneeds.

A third-party application may not pool, resell, rent, sublicense or provide third parties with indirect access to A11Yneeds services through an account, key, API or subscription that does not belong to them.

Normal use of files

The producer or organisation responsible for an .a11y or .a11y+ file may freely create, modify, store, publish, transmit, analyse, host and use its own files for its own needs or through a technical provider acting on its behalf.

A11Yneeds may store, copy, index, cache, technically analyse and distribute .a11y or .a11y+ files when necessary for service operation, hosting requested by an organisation, security, maintenance, backup, format validation or system improvement.

File restrictions

Any other third party may not collect, store long-term, republish, redistribute, resell, rent, mirror, commercially exploit or use to build a database .a11y or .a11y+ files produced by another person or organisation without prior written permission from the file producer and A11Yneeds.

This rule aims to preserve the producer's control over its files, the security of the A11Yneeds format and the integrity of the service.

A11Yneeds structure, format and service

A11Yneeds reserves its rights over the A11Yneeds name, interfaces, code, documentation, specific structure of .a11y and .a11y+ files, hosted services and associated databases.

The general concept of a tool for describing and transmitting adaptation needs cannot be reserved absolutely. However, reuse of the concrete expression of the A11Yneeds system, its files, documentation, service or databases is subject to these terms.

Availability and alpha version

A11Yneeds is under development. Some features may evolve, be modified, moved or suspended.

The service is provided without a guarantee of permanent availability. A11Yneeds makes its best efforts to preserve access to useful data, service security and file consistency, but users and organisations remain responsible for their uses, decisions and internal backups.

Deletion and control of data

You can delete your user account from its settings. An email lets you access the confirmation page. Your account is deleted only after your final confirmation. If you encounter a difficulty, use the contact form. This deletion erases the sign-in identifier, profiles and saved personal information, then permanently dissociates previously submitted requests from the account.

Requests and information already submitted to an organisation may remain stored by A11Yneeds on that organisation's behalf. They are not deleted with the user account and remain available to the receiving organisation. Account deletion does not remove the rights the person may exercise over this data.
